So here's how this track came into existance...
Last fall, Spaff (who writes all of Robert Lund's tracks) informed Carrie Dahlby and myself that he was writing a song parody with her and I in mind to sing lead vocals on.
Recently, he sent us the finished song lyrics. We read them, and thought they were very funny. We also thought the song was very nonsensical and silly. We agreed to sing it for him.
Suddenly, I got an idea for a sketch to frame the song in, in the same overall genre the song he's parodying is known to have been from, which would kind-of sort-of make the song make sense within the context of the sketch. I proceeded to write the sketch.
Spaff enlisted (or maybe 'tricked' would be a better term) Bob from Project Sisyphus to not only create the music for the song parody, but to also create some brilliant sound cues for the sketch portions, and engineer, mix, edit, and master the whole thing.
A couple of great cameos by Chris Mezzolesta of Power Salad and Tom Smith were graciously donated and added to the couldron, and voila, you have what could possibly be the weirdest track ever posted at the FuMP.
So, to recap:
Song parody lyrics by Spaff
Sketches written by the great Luke Ski
Lead vocals by Carrie Dahlby & the great Luke Ski
Music & Engineering by Project Sisyphus
Cameo appearances by Chris Mezzolesta and Tom Smith
Here's the track (try not to read the title if you can, and click play). Please be sure to leave comments there (and here too if you like):
